Visiting Faculty

William G. Tierney is University Professor, Wilbur-Kieffer Professor of Higher Education, and Co-director of the Pullias Center for Higher Education at the University of Southern California, and past president of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).  His research focuses on increasing access to higher education, improving the performance of postsecondary institutions, and analyzing the impact of privatization on postsecondary education. He is a Fellow of AERA and a member of the National Academy of Education.  His most recent book is Rethinking Education and Poverty.  He was on a Fulbright Fellowship to India and based at the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE) at NIEPA.  He is looking at issues of privatization, academic freedom, access to higher education for low-income students, institutional quality, and academic corruption.
